The governing body of Lane Council of Governments (LCOG) is its Board of Directors, comprised of local elected officials designated to represent member governments. The LCOG Board meets five times per year: the fourth Thursday of February, April, June, and September; and the first Thursday in December.
It is the role
and responsibility of the Board of Directors to establish the policies
of LCOG. Included are the power to:
- Adopt plans,
policies, and position statements on behalf of the region;
- Annually
adopt a work program, prescribing the activities of Lane Council
of Governments;
- Annually
adopt a budget, setting forth the fiscal expectations and limitations
for a 12-month period;
- Appoint or
remove an Executive Director; and
- Establish
and charge advisory committees or councils to assist in the performance
of work program tasks.
