LCOG serves as the federally-designated Central Lane Metropolitan Planning Organization, otherwise known as the MPO. In addition, LCOG's transportation staff provides regional planning, coordination, project development, and modeling services to area agencies relating to all modes of transporation. LCOG also provides staff support for the Lane Area Commission on Transportation (Lane ACT). Lane ACT is an advisory body established to provide a forum for stakeholders to collaborate on transportation issues affecting Lane County and to strengthen state/local partnerships in transportation.
