June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month

For Elder Abuse Awareness Month, LCOG’s Senior & Disability Services (S&DS) Adult Protective Services (APS) team has scheduled trainings that are free for the public to attend every Tuesday in June 2021. You may attend one, two, or all of the trainings listed below. If you are interested in attending, please register for the trainings and a Zoom link will be sent to you.

Week 1: Tuesday, June 1st 230-330 PM Panel Discussion with APS Specialist Geoff Clark, JCPD chief Bob Morris, CAHOOTS RN Brenton Gicker

In case you missed it: This is the first of four trainings that APS is putting on for Elder Abuse Awareness Month. This is a recording of our first training which was the Panel Discussion: Geoff Clark with Adult Protective Services, Bob Morris, Chief, Junction City Police and Brenton Gicker, RN, CAHOOTS discussed the multiple approaches to addressing elder abuse, the interaction and collaboration of their respective agencies and how you can report concerns of elder abuse.

Week 2: APS in a nutshell Tuesday, June 8th 1-2PM by APS Specialists Jessica Justman and Deb Holloway 

In case you missed it: This is the second of four trainings that APS hosted for Elder Abuse Awareness Month. This is a recorded training which was APS in a Nutshell presented by APS Specialists Jessica Justman and Debi Holloway.

Week 3: Self-neglect 101 Tuesday June 15th 11-12PM by APS Specialist Geoff Clark

In case you missed it: This is the third of four trainings that APS hosted for Elder Abuse Awareness Month. This is a recorded training of: Self-neglect 101 presented by APS Specialist Jessica Justman.
