Your Local Government Personnel Services

LGPS

The Local Government Personnel Institute (LGPI) was established in 1971 through a collaborative effort between the League of Oregon Cities (LOC) and the Association of Oregon Counties (AOC). The primary mission of LGPI was to provide Human Resources and Labor Relations assistance to cities, counties, and special districts across Oregon.

LGPI has since ceased its operations under the LOC. Its services have been transitioned to the Lane Council of Government’s (LCOG) umbrella and are now offered under the new name, Local Government Personnel Services (LGPS).

Local Government Personnel Services (LGPS) builds on the robust foundation established by the Local Government Personnel Institute (LGPI), continuing to deliver essential Human Resources and Labor Relations support to local governments throughout Oregon. By operating under the Lane Council of Government’s (LCOG) umbrella, LGPS ensures these critical services remain accessible and effective for cities, counties, and special districts across the state.
