Salary Range for Level 1 $23.07 – 27.55 Depending on experience

Salary Range for Level 2 $22.23 – 28.93 Depending on experience

Salary Range for Level 3 $25.44 – 30.72 Depending on experience

The City of Oakridge, Oregon (population 3,206) is in immediate need to fill the position of Public Works Utility Worker I.  The successful candidate must be able to perform entry level and semi-skilled maintenance and general manual labor tasks in various parts of the Public Works Department, under general supervision as required by the Public Works Maintenance Supervisor or Community Development Director.  Specific duties performed will vary according to the nature of the work assigned, including tasks related to repair and maintenance of city streets, sewers, parks, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Must be able to work outside in all types of weather.  Must be able to maintain good public relations with the general public.  Emergency and on-call work after regularly scheduled shifts, including some nights, weekends, and holidays is also required.

Level 1 Must have current & valid state issued Driver’s License and the ability to obtain an Oregon Class-A Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsements within 1 year of employment.  High school diploma or GED. Pre-employment drug test and criminal background check may be required.

Level 2 Class A Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsements. Must be in possession of State of Oregon Certificate for Level 1 water treatment, level 1 water distribution certifications. Ability to obtain level 1 sewer collections and sewer treatment certifications within 2 years of accepting position

Level 3 Class A Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsements. Must be in possession of State of Oregon Certificate, Class III Operator in Wastewater Treatment and Class II Operator in Water Treatment. Successful experience in wastewater and water treatment operations, with demonstrable ability to perform maintenance tasks, to supervise and determine adjustments to operating processes.
